Cleanings & Checkups
One the best ways to enjoy a healthy smile is with routine cleanings and checkups. At Alluvial Dental Center, we believe preventing major dental issues is the best way we can serve our patients. We suggest that our patients come in at least once a year for a checkup, with cleanings at least twice a year for the best results.
Professional cleanings by our hygienist help remove any tartar and plaque that regular brushing and flossing cannot address. While home oral care is necessary for maintaining healthy teeth and gums, there are always areas where bacteria can hide. This can create plaque that can harden into tartar. During your routine cleanings, the hygienist will inspect your gums to check for any signs of gingivitis or gum disease. If there are any signs of gum disease, a treatment plan can be proposed. Otherwise, a general cleaning is performed to remove any tartar and plaque for thoroughly clean teeth, helping to prevent decay and gum infections.
Comprehensive Dental Exams
Your checkup or dental exam with Dr. Park is important to locate any decay or other issues. X-rays and a physical exam are used to check for any anomalies. Catching tooth issues early can protect your teeth from further damage with quick treatment for cavities, cracks or infection. Dr. Park uses intraoral cameras to help show you any issues on a digital display. This is so you can be involved in your treatment plan and have a better understanding of your oral health.
Not only do regular checkups and cleanings help improve your oral health, they can save you and your family money. Routine visits are often covered under dental insurance plans. They can help reduce the cost of dental treatments through prevention. Fixing a small crack in a tooth when it is caught early is much less expensive than needing a dental crown if it is allowed to progress.
If it has been more than six months since your last cleaning or over a year since your last checkup, contact Alluvial Dental Center today to schedule your next visit. We accept many dental insurance plans, and we always welcome new patients.
